DESCRIPTION: The Academy for Global Citizenship is a preeminent example of innovative thinking, sustainable engineering, and thoughtful community investment. This project aimed for the highest level of sustainability and crossed off every check point, transforming a brownfield into a shining beacon of environmental responsibility. V3 and the entire AGC team pushed through barriers using creative explorations of eco-friendly methodologies to build a space that improves the world around it, harnessing the power of our planet to deliver clean, healthy solutions. AGC saves one million gallons a year with its net-zero water conditions and creates a net-positive water condition. and awaits recognition as the first Living Building in Illinois and is the largest of its kind in the world. These impressive environmental and economical benefits deserve amplification in the hopes they can be recreated throughout the world, as the positive social ramifications will be felt for generations to come as young minds find inspiration in what’s possible.
