DESCRIPTION: The successful design and construction of the Lake Chaminwood projects achieves the Will County Forest Preserve District’s goal of providing safe and universally accessible recreational facilities for public use and enjoyment. With the completion of the new pedestrian trail bridge across the I &M Canal, the public can now easily access and explore various sites along the very scenic State of Illinois’ I&M Canal Trail which spans 61.5 miles from Rockdale to LaSalle and includes state parks, unique landscapes and historical sites throughout.
