DESCRIPTION: The Village of Schaumburg chose to replace an oversized intersection with confusing and poorly functioning traffic control within a busy commercial area of the village with a modern roundabout. The reconstruction of National Parkway, one of the legs of the roundabout, included a substantial stormwater management component, replacing a deteriorating mainline pipe culvert with a large precast box culvert. Civiltech provided Phase II Design Engineering and Phase III Construction Engineering on this complex roadway and intersection reconstruction creating efficient traffic movement, improved pedestrian safety, improved stormwater management, and a fresh aesthetic with new streetlights and landscaping. The National Parkway Roadway Improvements – IL Route 58 (Golf Road) to American Lane project successfully improved safety, efficiency, sustainability, and aesthetics that will provide immense public benefit for decades to come.
