Description:The Forest Preserve Sewer Improvement Project is a Chicago Department of Water Management project which consisted of sewer improvements in the area of W. Addison Street to Irving Park Road, between N. Harlem Avenue and N. Osage Avenue.

This project included over 11,000 lineal feet of new reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) sewer main, ranging in size from 24” diameter to 66” diameter, installation of manholes and catch basins, construction of junction structures, construction of new connections to existing sewers, construction of concrete collar connections, and installation of drain connections.

Work on this project involved cutting, capping and replacement of existing water mains, all required excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling and compaction of excavations, restoration of pavements, curbs, walkways and landscaped areas, and providing traffic control and protection for the duration of the project.

Also included on this project was the management and organization of field inspection needs, site inspections, utility coordination, coordination with other agencies and city departments, preparation of paperwork such as PCMs, LICs, field orders, ADA ramp QC reports, inspection on the installation of the earth retention system, excavation, installation of the sewer and/or sewer structures, and proper backfilling of the excavation.
