Description:Chicago’s historic and iconic Wrigley Field is the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball (MLB) and was constructed in the spring of 1914 for Chicago Whales of the Federal League. The Chicago Cubs have called it home since 1916.
Today, as part of the Wrigley Field 1060 project, the 106-year-old ballpark was completely renovated from the top down including the expansion and creation of an enhanced pedestrian plaza space along the west side. Design, engineering, and construction of the improvements to the Wrigley Field campus were completed in five (5) separate phases.
In addition, the limits of the ballpark were expanded for the bleachers and other gated entries into the facility. The project required detailed coordination and approvals with the National Park Service, State of Illinois, and the City of Chicago.
